Ashlee received her undergraduate in Biology from Mt. Mercy College in 1997 and her Masters in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in 2000. She then furthered her education through St. Augustine University and obtained her Manual Therapy Certification in 2006.
Ashlee played basketball in college at Mt. Mercy and then went on to coach at Mt. Mercy and Kirkwood. She also was the physical therapist at Kirkwood for a number of years. Her love for sports continues as she attends and coaches numerous activities for her children. She also enjoys seeing athletes in the clinic and assisting them to return to a high level of competition.
Not only does she enjoy treating athletes, she also enjoys the challenges of everyday mishaps and overuse injuries. She typically puts into practice her Manual Therapy training with every patient using a “hands on” approach through soft tissue and joint mobilization. She believes that this combined with an individualized exercise program and education regarding activity modification and progression provides great outcomes.
Ashlee also has a certification in FMS and SFMA which are evaluation tools for the whole body that help in screening movement and how it contributes to our everyday lives and get to the source of the problem. Ashlee is a firm believer that injuries recover best when all systems are working properly. Our lifestyle helps create a healthy or unhealthy environment and taking inventory on stress, sleep, nutrition, relationships, substance use, and physical activity keeps those systems in check. Ashlee enjoys reviewing this and helping patients recognize where to start in their recovery.
Dry needling is another tool in her kit that she is certified in and uses for muscle guarding, tightness and pain. It has been a great adjunct to her manual skills to help acute and chronic pain.
In her spare time, Ashlee enjoys running, biking, attending sporting events, and spending time with her husband and children. She also loves being a Physical Therapist and helping individuals by connecting with them to understand them as a whole person.

Robert WWhen I started physical therapy my back hurt, I had pain going down my leg to my foot. Between Ashlee, Lisa and Nicole they taught me exercises to help strengthen my core and take the pain away.
