FMS VS SFMA

There has been some confusion regarding what FMS and SFMA entail. But in simple terms, FMS deals with motor control, fundamental movements, and the competence of basic movements, all which can be complicated by specific skills. FMS will determine which areas are the most difficult to move in your body. Then once you find your deficiency or asymmetry, you can work to correct it. On the other hand, SFMA consist of tests that are used to determine people’s breakouts for purposes of separating dysfunction and pain whenever possible; and will assist in the process of identifying movement patterns where certain aspects of exercises are contraindicated or indicated.

Benefits of FMS:

While there are a number of benefits that are associated with SFMA, there are many benefits that are associated with FMS as well, which include:

  • Patient Communication  FMS utilizes simple language which makes it easy for patients to understand their treatment options and dysfunctional patterns.

  • Evaluation  The screen used in this procedure effortlessly identifies limitations and asymmetries which makes it possible for a person to get their results without the hassle of extensive analysis and testing.

  • Corrective Strategies  According to many medical practitioners, FMS is identified as being applicable to almost all fitness levels, which is something that can go a long way to simplifying the corrective action for a wide array of mobility issues.

  • Safety  FMS has also been identified by many people as being crucial in identifying movement patterns that could be potentially dangerous as well as indicating a person’s readiness to achieve certain exercises.

How Can SFMA Help You?

SFMA is identified as one of the most effective therapies used for healing the body. While a person’s body may try to compromise its way of movement when faced with tightness, pain, weakness, as well as other structural abnormalities, it has been argued that having an effective therapy may go a long way in treating movement patterns as a whole instead of only treating the isolated area.
